Even though our season is winding down, we know it is not time to quit. Prior to the Oklahoma State game we had still been practicing hard, working hard and staying focused. The only thing that we can play for now is pride.
Going to Stillwater and playing a very good OSU team was obviously going to be a huge challenge for this team. Only down by 14 at halftime we were in the game. And with a few minutes to go in the fourth quarter, still down by 14, we were getting back into the game. Although the last few minutes did not go as planned, we played some good football throughout the entire game, even though we had periods of poor tackling on defense and did not execute very well in all phases of the game. We gave ourselves a chance to get into the game, but could not quite finish it off in the end.
With the OSU game behind us, we have an even bigger challenge this week. The Sooners come into town this weekend on top of their game as ever. To play a perfect game is almost impossible for any team, but the Baylor Bears must play an almost flawless game to beat these guys.
The last game of this season is as important, if not more important, than any game we have played. Sending my fellow seniors out of here on a good note is one thing, but we also must have momentum going into the off-season, into spring ball and again into next year for these young guys. This week is a huge week for many people and we have a big opportunity to once again show people how we play football.
I look forward to seeing all Baylor fans at this game one last time and to cheer on this program and university.
Sic `em Bears,
Justin
