Waco, Texas - Two of Baylor's three men's tennis players advanced to the round of eight Friday at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup. Both Benjamin Becker the No. 2 seed and Matias Marin the No. 6 seed advanced through the first two rounds and will play again on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (PST).

In the first round of play, Becker defeated a qualifier opponent 7-6, 6-2 before going on to defeat Daniel Jung of San Diego State University 7-6, 5-7, 6-3. Becker is scheduled to play Kris Kwinta of UCLA at 2:30 p.m. (PST).

Matias Marin defeated Phil Sheng of Stanford 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 in the first round and then went on to defeat Aaron Yovan of UCLA 7-5, 6-2. Marin is scheduled to compete against Jamil Al-Agba of Southern California (USC) at 2:30 p.m. (PST).

Baylor's only loss of the day was when Daniel Langre of USC defeated Reiner Neurohr 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of play.

Doubles play will begin Saturday after 1 p.m. (PST) with Baylor's Becker and Marin teaming up as the No. 4 seed in the tournament.
