Soccer Downed 3-2 By Utah In OT

WACO, Texas - Utah's Lauren Field scored her third goal of the night eight minutes into overtime to defeat Baylor 3-2 Sunday night at the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field in Waco.

The loss was Baylor's (3-1) first under new head coach George Van Linder.

Field completed her hat trick with a header off a corner kick from Missy Dennis with 1:54 left in the first overtime.

Baylor led 2-1 with 14 minutes remaining when Field lofted a 40-yard kick over the head of Baylor goalkeeper Monica Housden to knot the game at 2-2.

Candace Reilly had put the Bears on top with her first goal of the year at 57:42.

Utah (3-1) got on the board first with Field's first goal, a cross from freshman forward Amanda Feigt at 31:21.

Just 15 seconds later, Baylor's Ginny Rosario-Tull scored the equalizer on an unassisted goal at 31:06. Rosario-Tull dribbled around Utah's goalkeeper Kaycie Zimmerman. It was Rosario-Tull's sixth goal in only four games.

The Bears return to action on Friday as they head north to Fort Worth, Texas for the TCU tournament. They will face the SMU Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon and TCU at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
