WACO, Texas - Candace Carroll, Marquisha Sefas and Janelle Mulkey, members of the Baylor track and field team, visited J.H. Hines Elementary School Thursday.
The three teammates taught stretching techniques to a fourth grade P.E. class, which will prepare them for their Fitness Gram Testing next week. The school visit is just one example of how Baylor athletes are involved in many Waco community relations programs.
Bernice Harris, J.H. Hines' P.E. teacher, said she enjoyed having the athletes take time to play with her class.
"The kids love this," she said.
After stretchingm the children participated in a race and asked the Baylor girls questions. Many kids wanted to know when the girls would be coming back.
One boy asked, "Do you have an internet address?"
Carroll, impressed with the boy's question, replied, "Yes, we do! You can see us at BaylorBears.com."
