WACO, Texas - The fourth-ranked Baylor men's tennis team posted their 13th victory of the season with a 6-1 road win over No. 9 Kentucky in Lexington on Sunday afternoon. Baylor is now 13-1 while Kentucky falls to 9-5.
After the two teams split doubles matches at Nos. 1 and 2, the victor of the No. 3 match would decide the doubles point. Baylor's Matias Marin and Ivor Lovrak would go on the post an 8-5 win over Elliott Datlow and Tim Morgan to earn Baylor the all-important doubles point.
The Bears then prevailed in five of the six singles matches to claim the win. Zoltan Papp, Matias Marin and Benedikt Dorsch made quick work of their Wildcats opponents to assure the Bears a victory. Ivor Lovrak and Reiner Neurohr would also post wins for the Bears.
Baylor will return to action next weekend when they host two Big 12 matches. Oklahoma will take on the Bears at the Baylor Tennis Center on Sat., March 15 at 6 p.m. and then Baylor will face No. 74 Oklahoma State on Sun., March 16 ay 2 p.m.
