COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Baylor Lady Bears, behind freshman Sophia Young's 12th double-double of the season, posted their 18th victory of the season with a 97-54 win over Texas A&M in College Station on Sunday afternoon.

Baylor moves to 18-9 on the season and 7-8 in Big 12 action while Texas A&M drops to 10-16 and 3-12 in the league.

Young, a 6-1 forward, tied her career high with 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting and 6-of-6 from the free throw line. She hauled down 12 rebounds, blocked two shots and stole the ball three times as well. Three other Lady Bears also tallied double figure scoring. Jordan Davis scored a career-high 19 points. The sophomore guard was 6-of-7 from the floor including four treys and 3-for-3 from the charity stripe. Melanie Hamerly came off the bench to score 17 points and Steffanie Blackmon tallied 16.

As a team, the Lady Bears shot over 60 percent for the second time this season. They were 37-of-61 from the floor for 60.7 percent, 5-of-8 from 3-point range and 18-of-22 from the free throw line. Baylor dominated the boards as well, hauling down 46 rebounds to the Aggies' 26.

Baylor jumped on Texas A&M early by racing out to a 17-1 lead. In fact, the Aggies didn't score their first field goal until the 10:37 mark when Toccara Williams stole the ball and scored a layup. Baylor would lead by 26 at the half, 45-19.

The Lady Bears registered five blocks on the afternoon, which gave them 161 for the season, breaking the program's season block record of 158 which was set last season. Hamerly, Young and Blackmon have combined for 118 of the team's blocks this season.

Baylor will close out its regular season on Wed., March 5 when they host Oklahoma State in the Ferrell Center. Baylor's lone senior Stasha Richards will be honored in pregame ceremonies.
