TOURNAMENT

  • This was the first meeting between Baylor and Texas A&M in the Big 12 Tournament.
  • Baylor is now (3-3) in first-round games.
  • Texas A&M is now (1-6) in first-round games.
  • The seventh seed is now (4-3) all-time vs. the 10th seed.
  • The two reams have met twice this season with Baylor winning on Jan. 22, 69-49 in Waco, Tx and 97-54 on March 2, in College Station, Tx.
  • With the win, Baylor now trails Texas A&M in the all time series (34-29)

BAYLOR

  • Baylor has won 20 or more games all three seasons under Head Coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson.
  • Baylor had 22 points at half which ties season low set at Oklahoma State on Feb. 19.
  • The Bears used a 14-2 run to start the second half, retaking the lead for the first time since the led 7-6 at the 16:38 mark of the first period. The run ended when Natasha Summerville hit the game's first three pointer. Summerville's bucket would be the only three pointer of the game for the Aggies.
  • A three-point basket by freshman Ebony Jackson gave the Bears the first double digit lead of the game 59-48 at 7:21 mark of the second half
  • The duo of Setffanie Blackmon (22 points) and Sophia Young (25 points) led the Bears with a combined 47 points. One of the two players has led Baylor in scoring in each of the last seven games and 23 of 28 games this season.
  • Sophomore Steffanie Blackmon's 22 points tonight gives her at least 15 points in five consecutive games and has gone over the 20 point mark for the 12th time this season.
  • With 58 points in the second half, Baylor broke the previous record of 55 points scored in a half. The previous record was set by Oklahoma State who scored 55 against Texas A&M in last year's tournament.
  • Baylor's 58 points in the second half comes in second to their 59 points earlier in the season against UA-Pine Bluff.
  • Baylor is now 4-7 when trailing at the half.

TEXAS A&M

  • Despite out rebounding Baylor, 25-12,at the half, the Aggies only led the Bears 4-0 in second chance points. Texas A&M built their lead with a 13-0 run covering a span of seven minutes run early in the first half. The Aggies were out rebounded 17-6 in the second half.
  • With 13 points, Sr. Toccara Williams has scored in double digits in 22 of the Aggies 26 games this season.
  • By only connecting on one three point attempt, the Aggies move into a tie for second in the category of least amount of three point buckets made in a torment game with one. The only team not to make a three-point basket in Big 12 tournament play is the 1997 Nebraska Cornhuskers.
