Women's Hoops Lose in Stillwater

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State outscored Baylor 13-4 in the final 3:50 of the game to come away with a 64-55 victory in Stillwater on Wednesday night. The loss drops the Lady Bears to 16-8 overall and 5-7 in the league while the Cowgirls are now 6-17 on the season and 2-10 in the Big 12.

Baylor took a 33-25 lead into the lockerroom at the half, but was outscored 39-22 in the second stanza. Baylor held the lead for the first 31 minutes of the game until Oklahoma State tied the game at 48-48 with nine minutes left. Baylor tied the game again at 51 at the 3:50 mark but a steal by Trisha Skibbe and a layup by Meghan Craig put the Cowgirls up for good.

Freshman Sophia Young produced her 11th double-double of the season with 21 points and 13 rebounds. She led the team in both categories. Sophomore Steffanie Blackmon recorded her ninth double-double with 11 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds. The only other Lady Bear to tally double digits was Stasha Richards with 10 points. The Lady Bears, who usually get 32 percent of their points from the bench, got only two points from non-starters. Despite outrebounding the Cowgirls, 46-39, the Lady Bears turned the ball over a season-high 28 times.

Oklahoma State was led by Trisha Skibbe's 25 points and 12 rebounds. The Lady Bears limited Skibbe to 5-of-22 from the floor but the junior post made 15-of-18 free throws, eight of which came in the 1:19 of the game.

Baylor plays its second straight road game when they travel to Lawrence, Kansas to play the University of Kansas on Sat., Feb. 22 at 2:05 p.m.
