LADY BEARS VS. SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA...
The Baylor Lady Bears will return home after three road games to take on the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions on Mon., Dec. 15 at 7 pm in the Ferrell Center. The Lady Lions, currently 2-1 on the season, have been idle since posting a home win over William Carey on Dec. 1. This will be the Lady Lions' first road trip of the season. Baylor is coming off a 74-63 road loss to No. 7 Penn State.
GAINING GROUND IN THE POLLS...
In the latest Associated Press (AP) Poll, the Lady Bears received 39 votes, up from 34 the week before. This puts them just four spots out of the top 25. The last time Baylor was listed in the AP Top 25 was at the end of the 2001-02 season when they were No. 7. Baylor received 29 votes in the latest USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll, up 11 from the previous week.
THE LADY BEARS...
The Lady Bears are coming off their first loss of the season after posting a 6-0 mark to begin the 2003-04 campaign. They suffered a 74-63 defeat at the hands of seventh-ranked Penn State on the Lady Lions' home court, the Bryce Jordan Center. Baylor has posted victories over Mississippi State (88-45), Nicholls State (93-44), Washington State (76-39), Pacific (88-51), Eastern Kentucky (96-75) and Rice (79-55).
Four players are averaging in double figures for Baylor. With a career-high 27 points against Washington State, sophomore post Sophia Young moved into the lead for the Lady Bears in scoring and rebounding average. Young followed that game with the 19th double-double of her career with a 13-point, 10-rebound performance against Pacific and produced another double-double against Eastern Kentucky (21p, 11r). She is averaging 18.0 points and 9.8 rebounds an outing. Steffanie Blackmon, a junior post, ranks second in both categories with 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. Senior Dionne Brown, usually comes off the bench but was in the starting lineup at Penn State, averages 10.3 points and 5.3 rebounds. Freshman forward Emily Niemann is averaging 10.7 points and 3.9 rebounds.
Baylor is outscoring their opponents by 28.6 points a game and are shooting .517 (230-445) on the season. The Lady Bears are holding their opponents to just 54.7 points a game and a .336 (136-405) shooting average. Baylor has shot .500 or above in six of the seven games this season.

THE COACHES...
Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson, in her fourth season, has a 78-27 head coaching record which equates out to a .743 winning percentage. She has produced 20-win seasons in each of her years as a head coach and has taken the Lady Bears to postseason competition all three seasons, twice to the NCAA Tournament and to the finals of the WNIT last year.

Southeastern Louisiana's Lori Davis Jones is in her 2nd season as the Lady Lions' head coach and 10th season overall. She is 9-21 at Southeastern Louisiana and 187-118 overall. After serving a successful eight-year stint as head coach at Lambuth (TN) University, Jones returned to her alma mater as head coach. Jones was a standout member of the Southeastern women's team from 1987-91 where she ranks 15th on the school's all-time rebounding list with 448.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS...
The Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions, currently 2-1 on the season, hit the road for the first time this year when they visit the Ferrell Center. They have been idle for two weeks, their last game was on Dec. 1. They have posted victories over Loyola-New Orleans (71-57) and William Carey (73-65) and suffered a loss to UL-Lafayette (57-43).
The Lady Lions are led ton the season in scoring and rebounding by Nakeya Downing, a 6-0 junior forward, who transferred from Southwest Mississippi CC. She is averaging 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds a game. She is followed in points by Shanna Achord, a 5-7 senior, who scores12.3 a game. Melissa Stoevsand is the team's second leading rebounder at 6.0 a contest. She is a 6-1 senior center.
