WACO, Texas - Dominique Zeigler and Michael Hawkins, members of the Baylor football team, visited second grade physical education classes at South Waco Elementary Monday. The visit was part of Baylor Athletics' Bears 'n' Books program, which allows student-athletes to read to area children.

Zeigler and Hawkins divided the class into two sections and read to the students and answered questions. They also played an impromptu game of 'simon says'.

South Waco Elementary P.E. teacher Pam Fischer told the athletes they had no idea how excited the children were to have them come visit their school.

She said, "The kids will be talking about this visit for weeks!"

Before Zeigler and Hawkins left, they signed autographs for the students and answered a few more questions about college and football.

Zeigler told a group of boys that he was lifting weights at 6 a.m. earlier that morning.

"You have to work hard if you want to be good at something," he said.

The school visit is just one example of how Baylor athletes are involved in many Waco community relations programs.
