WACO, Texas - Senior outside safety Derrick Cash has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2004 Findlay Toyota Las Vegas Classic held Jan. 14 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CST, and the game will be televised live on FOX Sports Net.

Cash will play for the West squad and is among 110 college seniors selected to participate from among the nation's top football schools. He is the first Baylor player to be selected to play in the Las Vegas Classic, formerly known as the Paradise Bowl, which began in 2002.

Coaches for the East and West squads will have NFL or NFL Europe experience. All players are eligible for April's NFL Draft and are selected in cooperation with professional scouts.

A product of El Campo [Texas] High School, Cash enters Saturday's game against Oklahoma State with 280 career tackles. He has 196 solo stops during his career, seventh in Baylor history. As a sophomore, Cash made a career-high 106 tackles with 13 passes broken up and five interceptions.

This season, Cash is tied for third on the team with 60 tackles, including six for loss and two sacks. He was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Dallas Morning News earlier this season after anchoring Baylor's defense in the Bears' victory over Colorado.

Baylor concludes its 2003 schedule Saturday, hosting Oklahoma State for an 11:30 a.m. CST kickoff at Floyd Casey Stadium. The game will be televised live on FOX Sports Net.
