Track Adds Additional Signee

WACO, Texas - Mary Pearce has signed a national letter of intent to run for the Baylor track and field team during the 2002-03 season it was announced today by head track and field coach Clyde Hart.

"We are pleased to have Mary join our program," said Hart. "She is a state champion and record holder that will give us needed help in a couple different areas."

A graduate of Diamond High School in Anchorage, Alaska, Pearce is the reigning state champion and state record holder in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 57.30. Pearce also won the 2002 state title in the 200 meters.

Pearce joins a group of eight other athletes that signed with the Baylor track and field program earlier this year.
