WACO, Texas - On Monday, March 11, Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson will make a special visit to talk about the NCAA Tournament.

In just her second season as a head coach, Mulkey-Robertson's 2001-02 squad firmly established its place among the top 10 teams in the nation this season and is now preparing for a second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

The former All-American and Olympic gold medalist was named Baylor's fourth Lady Bear head coach in August of 2000. In her first year at the helm, she took a team that was 7-20 in 1999-2000 and took them from 12th place in the Big 12 in 2000 to the school's first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. The squad continued to improve this season, claiming second place in the Big 12, the nation's top women's basketball conference, and making a strong push to host first and second round NCAA Tournament action.

Mulkey-Robertson continued to add to her impressive list of achievements. Numerous honors were bestowed upon her last season. She was named one of the Top 50 Female High School Athletes of the 20th Century, National Coach of the Year by Real Sport magazine and Big 12 Coach of the Year by the Dallas Morning-News and Waco Tribune-Herald.

Mulkey-Robertson, a 2000 inductee into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, came to Baylor from Louisiana Tech University where she spent 19 years as either a player or coach in the legendary Lady Techster program. During her tenure in Ruston, Mulkey-Robertson was associated with 11 Final Four squads and three national championship teams. She has either played or coached in the national championship game on six occasions.
