COMING UP...
The Lady Bears, currently 23-4, 11-4, have won 10 of their last 11 Big 12 games which includes recent victories over #15 Texas Tech, Texas A&M, #18 Texas , #11Colorado and Oklahoma State. Iowa State, 21-6 and 9-6, has won their last seven of their last eight games. They have lost only two games at home this season (11-2), both came in Big 12 play (Kansas State and Texas Tech).

Iowa State is 2-0 against Baylor in Hilton Coliseum and the Cyclones are 11-2 at home this season.

This matchup features the league's best 3-point shooting team (Iowa State) and the Big 12's second-best 3-point field goal percent defensive team (Baylor). The Cyclones average 8.4 treys a game while Baylor limits it's opponents to 4.0 per game.

THE LADY BEARS...
Baylor, 23-4, 11-4, after posting five straight wins, moved up one spot in the Associated Press Poll, they are now No. 8 in the AP poll. The Lady Bears started the season ranked No. 14. Baylor remained at No. 8 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.

Twenty-seven games into the season the Lady Bears are led by all-American candidates seniors Sheila Lambert (Seattle, Wash./Chief Sealth HS) and Danielle Crockrom (Houston/North Shore HS). Lambert leads the way with 19.6 points per game, while Crockrom follows at 17.6. Crockrom leads the team in rebounding at 9.4 an outing. Freshman post Steffanie Blackmon (Dallas/Rowlett HS) follows with 9.5 points and 5.0 rebounds a game.

SENIORS COMING ON STRONG...
The four Lady Bear seniors have turned it up a notch recently. Sheila Lambert and Danielle Crockrom have been constants all season but recently Brooke McCormack and Nicole Collins, always steady on the defensive end, have stepped it up offensively. In the Lady Bears' past two games, all four averaged over 9.5 points a game and were stellar on the boards as well. Crockrom averaged 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds, Lambert 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists, McCormack 10.0 points and 3.5 rebounds and Collins 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists. McCormack normally scores 5.6 a game while Collins averages 3.1 points. McCormack scored a career-high 14 points at Oklahoma State and Collins tallied a season-high 11 points.

IN JUST TWO SEASONS...
In just two years at the helm of the Lady Bear program, head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson has taken a squad that was 7-20 and finished 12th in the league the season prior to her arrival, and propelled them into the national spotlight and a possible second place finish in the Big 12. Under Mulkey-Robertson's tutelage, the Lady Bears are 44-13 with consecutive 20-win seasons to their credit.

THE OPPOSITION...
No. 10 Iowa State Cyclones Iowa State, 21-6 and 9-6, has won their last seven of their last eight games. They have lost only two games at home this season (11-2), both came in Big 12 play (Kansas State and Texas Tech).

Junior guard Lindsey Wilson leads the Cyclones in scoring at 19.8 a game. Angie Welle, a 6-4 senior post, is second in scoring and leads the squad in rebounding at 19.7 and 10.9, respectively. Senior guard Tracy Gahan completes the Cyclones' double figure scoring with 14.7 a game. She also pulls down 7.4 rebounds a game.

THE COACHES...
Baylor's Kim Mulkey-Robertson is in her second year as a head coach after guiding the Lady Bears to a 21-9 record and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament in her inaugural season. The Lady Bears enjoyed tremendous improvement last season over Baylor's 7-20 record of 1999-2000. Her career record is 44-13 (.772).

Iowa State is coached by Bill Fennelly. He is in his seventh season as the Cyclones' head coach. Fennelly is 159-56 (.740) in his seven seasons at Iowa State and is 325-109 (.749) in 14 years as a head coach.
