WACO, Texas - Six home football games are part of Baylor's first-ever, 12-game regular season schedule, announced Tuesday by Baylor Director of Athletics Tom Stanton.
The schedule is highlighted by a season-opening trip to the West Coast, where the Bears meet Pac-10 conference member California (Aug. 31), and home games against Big 12 South Division foes Texas A&M (Oct. 9) and Oklahoma (Nov. 16) as part of an eight-game conference slate.
The Bears' home schedule also includes non-conference foes Samford (Sept. 7) and Tulsa (Sept. 21) as well as Big 12 opponents Kansas (Oct. 5) and Kansas State (Oct. 26). The Tulsa contest is slated for Parent's Weekend, while the Kansas State game is featured as part of Homecoming festivities.
"The strength of our Big 12 Conference schedule allows us some flexibility with our non-conference games," Stanton said. "We're excited about the Cal game because we its an opportunity to play a school from another Bowl Championship Series conference."
Baylor plays road games at New Mexico (Sept. 14), Colorado (Oct. 19), Texas Tech (Nov. 2), Texas (Nov. 9) and Oklahoma State (Nov. 23) in addition to the California game.
