Women's Tennis Travels to TCU

Last year when these two teams met, then-No. 18 Baylor defeated then-No. 29 TCU 6-1. This year the teams are seeded closer in the ITA rankings with Baylor at No. 21 and TCU at No. 23.

Baylor just finished playing at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors held in Madison, Wisonsin. After losing to No. 5 Georgia, the champions of the tournament, 6-1, the Bears bounced back to defeat No. 37 Old Dominion 5-2, but dropped a tough one to No. 11 Washington 4-3. The Horned Frogs fell to No. 19 Texas A&M by a score of 4-3 moving their season record to 3-1.

The match will be played on the Bernard "Tut" Bartzen Varsity Tennis Courts at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

Both TCU and Baylor have faced Middle Tennessee State. The Bears' and Horned Frogs' season opener was against the Blue Raiders and both were triumphant. Baylor posted a 4-3 victory and TCU a 5-2 win.

Two Horned Frogs are ranked among the nation's top 100 in singles: No. 98 Patty Aburto and No. 60 Katrin Gaber. Baylor also brings in two ranked players, No. 29 KatjaKovac and No. 43 Vida Mulec. In doubles, the Bears bring one ranked team of No. 25 Kovac/Mulec.
