Crockrom Named Big 12 Hoops Player of the Week

WACO, Texas - Baylor's Danielle Crockrom was named Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week in a vote of a media panel for games played from Feb. 4-10 it was announced today. Nebraska's Keasha Cannon earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors.

Crockrom, a 6-2 senior forward, averaged 24.0 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting .759 from the floor last week in games against No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 15 Texas Tech. Against Oklahoma she turned in her 11th double-double of the season with a 17-point, 11-rebound performance. She was 8-of-14 from the floor for a shooting percentage of .571. Crockrom led the Lady Bears in both scoring and rebounding in their first victory over Texas Tech (85-69) in 19 years. The Houston, Texas, native tallied 31 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three assists in the win. After missing her first shot, she didn't miss another shot, going 14-for-15 from the floor for a .933 shooting percentage. Crockrom now averages 17.1 points and 9.2 rebounds a game for the season.

This marks the second time this season a Baylor player has earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors, Sheila Lambert was honored on Jan. 28.
