Baylor Blows Out North Texas, 82-56

WACO, Texas (AP) - Kenny Taylor and Lawrence Roberts each scored 23 points to lead Baylor to an 82-56 victory over North Texas on Monday night.

Taylor was 7-of-10 from 3-point range, including three scored in the first five minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach. Roberts had seven rebounds for Baylor (7-2).

Former Baylor player Michael DeGrate led North Texas (5-6) scoring with 13 points.

Baylor hit 49 percent of its field goals for the game, while North Texas shot only 36 percent.

The Mean Green took two early first-half leads at 7-2 and 9-8. But Taylor's first 3-pointer of the game put Baylor in front 11-9. The shot triggered a 24-2 Bear run and gave Baylor a 32-11 lead with just over seven minutes left in the first half.

Taylor and Roberts combined for 27 first-half points as Baylor led 46-21 at the half.
