WACO, Texas - Six Lady Bears scored in double digits Saturday night as Baylor defeated Mercer 108-55 at the Ferrell Center.

Baylor (10-1) jumped out early as sophomores Steffanie Blackmon and Melanie Hamerly combined to score the Lady Bears' first 23 points. Baylor led 56-31 at the half.

Blackmon led the Lady Bears in scoring for the eighth time this season, pouring in 25 points. Blackmon recorded her fifth double-double of the season as she added 10 rebounds.

Freshman Sophia Young had a career night for the Lady Bears, setting season and career highs for points (15 - tied), rebounds (14), assists (4), and steals (5) in addition to recording her fifth double-double of the year.

Junior Jessika Stratton recorded her first career double-double, scoring 13 points and dishing out a career-best 13 assists. Saturday's game marked the first time this season that three Lady Bears recorded double-doubles.

Junior Amanda Parker led Mercer (0-8) with 14 points. Senior April Dyer added 13 points and led the visiting Bears with nine rebounds.

The 108 points was Baylor's highest point total since the 2000-01 season. The Lady Bears scored 100-plus points for the third time this season and the 48th time in program history. The Lady Bears have never lost when reaching the century mark.

The Lady Bears take one day off before hosting North Texas Monday at 6 p.m. The game is part of a Baylor-UNT doubleheader; the Baylor men host the Mean Green Monday at 8 p.m., also at the Ferrell Center. Fans who attend the women's game will receive free admission to the men's game immediately following.
