WACO, Texas - The Lady Bears held Grambling State to five points in the first 10 minutes of the contest and took a 30-point advantage into the locker room at halftime (48-18) en route to a 99-40 victory. Baylor is now 7-1 on the season.

For the second time in as many games, six Lady Bears scored in double-figures. Steffanie Blackmon scored 26 points to lead all scorers. Sophia Young and Melanie Hammerly each added 12. Stasha Richards (11), Chelsea Whitaker (10) and Jordan Davis (10) also scored in double figures.

While six Lady Bears scored in double figures, the Baylor defense held Grambling to 21 percent (15-of-71) field goal shooting, and none of the Lady Tigers reached double figures.

Young had a career-best 13 rebounds to go along with her 12 points to record her fourth double-double in eight career games. Steffanie Blackmon contributed a career-high five blocks and Jessika Stratton tied her season-best with seven assists.

Through five home games this season, the Lady Bears are scoring an average of 94 points per contest and winning by an average of 45.8 points in front of the home crowd.

Baylor entertains the home fans again on Monday (Dec. 16) in a 7 p.m. contest against Texas-Pan American at the Ferrell Center.
