Head Coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson:
On Reloading in the Big 12:
"There's not a lot of time to rebuild and re-load in this conference. That's the nature of this league. I've always thought this league is one of the best in the country. I think that is evident by the number of teams that make post-season play."
On coaching a younger squad:
"I think the team is a reflection of their coach. I coach this team the same way I've coached the last two years. I can't do one thing about maturity and inexperience, time takes care of that."
On setting different goals than last year:
"I will not allow our youth and inexperience to be an excuse. We'd like to finish in the top-half of the conference. If we do that we know we can make the tournament."
On the team's non-conference schedule:
"The Big 12 conference is tough enough. I don't care who we play out of conference. The difference this year is the expectation of the fans and the expectations of the media. Nobody criticized who we played out of conference the past two years and this year should be no different."
Chanelle Fox, Junior Guard:
On the loss of Cockrom and Lambert:
"As a team we have to move on, regroup, and find a new leader. "We won't find our leader until we get the ball on the court."
On the newcomers:
"Sophia Young is a very exciting player, who can jump out of the gym. She is an excellent rebounder, and is a very hard worker on and off the court."
Jessika Stratton, Junior Guard:
On the speed and athleticism of the team:
"We have a lot of athleticism coming in and some strong shooters returning."
On freshman class:
"We have a very exciting, and well rounded freshman class."
"They are going to give us an opportunity to go out there right away with fresh legs and young hearts and prove what we have."
