WACO, Texas - Big 12 Special Order Sports, Fox Sports Net's pay-per-view division, will produce and distribute on a pay-per-view basis the Nov. 9 Baylor-Texas college football game to participating cable television systems in Texas and nationally to DIRECTV satellite customers. Suggested retail price is $29.95. Kickoff is 11:30 AM CT from Royal-Memorial Stadium in Austin.
The game is being televised on pay-per-view because it was not selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage. Under conference TV rules, games not picked up for regular television distribution can only be televised pay-per-view.
"We're giving fans an option to watch a game that they otherwise wouldn't be able to see on television at an affordable price," said Fox Sports Net Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon Heidtke. "We want to make this game available to as many viewers as possible."
A list of participating cable systems and satellite providers offering the pay-per-view telecast will be announced next week.
The game will be replayed throughout Fox Sports Net's Southwest region (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico) on Monday, Nov. 11 at 2:00 AM CT.
Kevin Eschenfelder (play-by-play) and former Texas Tech coach Spike Dykes (analyst) form the announcing team.
