WACO, Texas - The Baylor soccer team honored its seniors before the game Sunday, but that would be all the celebrating Bear fans would do as 20th-ranked Nebraska won, 4-0.

Baylor (7-7-2, 1-5-2 Big 12) suffered the weekend sweep at home; the Bears have now lost four of their last five games and seven of nine games since starting the season 6-1. Nebraska (9-4-3, 4-2-1 Big 12), meanwhile, completed a weekend sweep on their swing through Texas, having defeated Texas Tech 4-0 Friday in Lubbock.

Taking a page from the Bears' playbook, the Huskers came out firing Sunday, scoring their first goal of the day just 37 seconds into the game. Freshman Nikki Baker put Nebraska on top with her seventh goal of the year, assisted by sophomore Jenna Cooper.

Sophomore Brooke Bredenberg gave the Huskers a 2-0 lead later in the first half, scoring her second goal of the year, assisted by senior Christine Latham at the 35:43 mark.

Nebraska doubled its score in the second half, as senior Kori Saunders scored a pair of unassisted goals at 51:36 and 66:17 to ice the Husker win.

The visiting Huskers outshot Baylor 20-13 on the day, though the two teams tied 11-11 in shots on goal. The Bears had their chances, with several shots sailing just high of the net, but none ever connected as Baylor was shutout for the third time this season.

Before the game, the Bears honored the team's two seniors, Tamura Crawley and Whitney Barrett. The two seniors have at least three games left in the careers, as Baylor heads north to play at Iowa State Friday at 7 p.m. and at Iowa Sunday at 1 p.m. The Bears then conclude the 2002 regular season Nov. 1 in Lubbock against Texas Tech.
