Former All-American Dupre Passes Away

WACO, Texas - L.G. Dupre, one of Baylor's great running backs, lost his battle with cancer on August 9. Dupre, known as "Long Gone," was a 1952-53-54 football letterman. He was an all-American and was inducted into Baylor's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1981.
Dupre played professional football with the Baltimore Colts from 1955-59 and with the Dallas Cowboys in 1960-61.
He had been living in Dallas for about 40 years but passed away in Texas City, his home town. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 11, at noon at the Eken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. The Reverend Dr. Milton Cunningham will officiate at the service.
