Waco, Texas - Baylor's Katja Kovac lost in the consolation quarterfinals of the 2001 Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas on Friday, eliminating her from the tournament.

The senior from Ljubljana, Slovenia, started off the day by defeating Tulsa's Aleksandra Durska in first round consolation action, 6-2, 6-0. However, Alison Ojeda of Tennessee squeezed out a 7-6 victory in the first set of the quarterfinals match and won the second set 6-2 for the victory.

Kovac, ranked 44th nationally, ends the fall season with a 12-4 singles record.
