WACO, Texas (AP) - Kenny Taylor's 21 points and Lawrence Roberts' 19 points and 17 rebounds led Baylor past Hardin-Simmons 107-48 on Saturday.

Kevin Henry's three layups fueled a 10-0 run in the game's first three minutes as Baylor took a 11-2 lead. The Cowboys cut the lead to 15-8 at 15:31 on Bryan Conover's jumper, but Baylor went on another 10-0 run for a 27-10 lead and Hardin-Simmons never threatened again.

"I thought we got some looks at the basket, but we didn't shoot as well as we could have," said Hardin-Simmons coach Dylan Howard, serving in first game as a collegiate head coach. "But we learned a lot from playing a Division I team, and I'm ready to review the film and see where we go from here."

Chad Elsey had 16 and three other players each had 10 for Baylor. Roberts also had four blocks and six steals. Taylor was 5-of-7 from the 3-point line.

"There's no doubt Kenny Taylor has many great qualities especially shooting," Baylor coach Dave Bliss said. "There's no sense in red-shirting him."

Conover and Jay McCall each scored 10 points for Hardin-Simmons (0-1).

Down by 22 at halftime, Hardin-Simmons scored only 18 points in the second half, hitting just 19.4 percent of its shots.

Baylor's bench outscored Hardin-Simmons' bench 62-20.

The 59-point margin of victory represented the second largest in Baylor history. The record of 66 points, a 121-55 win over Austin College, occurred on November 24, 1978.

The Bears have won 17 consecutive non-conference games dating back to the 1999-2000 season.
