SAN MARCOS, Texas - Competing just half the team at the Southwest Texas Classic Saturday Baylor's women's cross country team still finished second overall behind host Southwest Texas at the Aquarena Springs Golf Course.
Senior Lanie Millar led the Bear pack finishing third overall with a time of 18:20 for the 5K race. Sophomore Megan McCoin and freshman Emily Bonilla also captured top-10 finishes, placing seventh (18:36) and 10th (18:48), respectively.
The Baylor men only ran two athletes in the race and did not record a team score. Senior Jon Capron came away with a 10th place finish in the 8K race turning in a time of 27:18, while redshirt freshman Jonathan Harbour ran the race in 28:46 to place 25th overall.
Baylor cross country will resume action this Saturday, Oct. 13 as half the squad will run at the Pre-Nationals in Greenville, S.C. and the other half will travel to College Station to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational.
