San Diego - Seniors Katja Kovac and Frida Borjesson, playing in the Consolation semifinals of the Flight A singles in the San Diego State Fall Classic, each played three sets with opposite results.
Kovac lost the first set and stormed back to advance to the consolation finals over Pepperdine's Aleksandra Kujawska 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 while Borjesson won the first set but dropped the next two to lose to Anna Anderson of Pepperdine 4-6, 7-6 (10), 6-1. Kovac will now face Anderson in the consolation finals on Sunday and Borjesson will play Kujawska.
In Flight A doubles consolation semifinals, Baylor's Paola Stephen and Dasha Potapova defeated Alabama's team of Chang/Mathew 8-1. They will play Fresno State's Wiggins/Ramirez in the consolation finals. In other Flight A doubles action Borjesson and Patricia Graf lost to San Diego State's Becker/Karrento in a hard-fought match, 8-6.
