Head Coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson:
On offensive contribution other than Lambert and Crockrom:
"We need to get more scoring from more places. Sheila (Lambert) and Danielle (Crockrom) can score, they can finish shots. We are a good team, but we can become better with more balance."
On the Big 12:
"I've always said that if you finish in the top half of this conference, you deserve to get a bid (to the NCAA tournament) This year is no exception. Of the seven teams that made the postseason last year, all but one team has everyone back this year."
On what makes the Big 12 tough:
"Good coaching. The diversity of talent in the Big 12 makes it difficult to prepare night in and night out. The conference is going to be as tough, if not tougher this season. There will be another sleeper team this year as well."
On freshmen contribution:
"The biggest thing freshmen can do for the team quickly is work on the defensive end. It's very difficult to score against a junior or senior in this league. We're looking to make them (the freshman) quicker on the defensive end."
Forward Danielle Crockrom:
On being part of Baylor's turnaround last season:
"It was unbelievable for me. I was unsure how far we could go at first, but coach believed in us and showed us so much. I was honored to be a part of our turnaround."
On the team's reaction of making the school's first ever NCAA tournament trip:
"The picture on the back of our media guide is real, it wasn't staged. We tried to stay cool, but we were all very excited, it was great."
On the difference between last year's team and this year's team:
"We have more depth this year and we have a year under coach's wings."
On the one-two punch she provides with Sheila Lambert:
"She's my teammate and my friend so it's hard to talk about her. I have never seen anyone handle the ball like her before."
On the reason for the turnaround last season:
"Coach Kim (Mulkey-Robertson) believed in me and the team. You don't know how good of a coach she is. Her belief helped us so much last season, her belief helped lead us in the right direction."
