SMU Slips Past Baylor With Last Minute Goal

WACO, Texas - It was a game filled with close calls, but the No. 25 SMU Mustangs were the ones who won with a goal from sophomore midfielder Sarah Harvey in the 88th minute of play.

Sophomore forward Tara Comfort got the assist. No. 14 Baylor falls to 7-3-0 on the season while SMU improves to 7-3-0.

The opening half saw opportunities for both teams to score. Baylor had two shots hit the post and another just edge past the left side of the goal. SMU had similar luck. In the end, the Bears took seven shots on goal to the Mustangs 11.

Baylor goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse had 10 saves, while the Mustang's Becca Lief tallied seven.

Baylor will return to conference action Friday evening as they host Kansas at 7 p.m. Baylor is 1-1 in league play while the Jayhawks are looking for their first victory.
