Bears Best Host Maryland, 4-0

College Park, Md. - No. 24 Baylor topped host Maryland, 4-0, in the first day of action at the Maryland/FILA Tournament in College Park, Md.

After playing a scoreless first half, Baylor (4-1) opened the scoring against the Terrapins (2-3) at the 55:32 marks as Juli Goin beat Maryland goalkeeper Ali Wolff from 25 yards out.

Nearly three minutes later, the Bears' Nikki Hales beat Wolff to the left side of the net from 15 yards out to give Baylor a 2-0 lead. Goin had the assist.

BU closed out the scoring by adding two goals in the final four minutes of play as Candice Kocian and Courtney Saunders scored. Goin and Saunders ended the day with three points apiece. Baylor out-shot Maryland 13-7.

Bear goalie Dawn Greathouse recorded three saves for the shutout, while Wolff notched four.

Baylor takes on Pittsburgh Sunday to close out the tournament.
