WACO, Texas - The Baylor Bears claimed their second victory of the weekend and handed TCU their first loss of the season with a 2-0 shutout.

Baylor improves to 3-1 on the season, while the Horned Frogs fall to 3-1.

Senior forward Courtney Saunders scored in the ninth minute of play off a ball from freshman defender Tamura Crawley. That would be it for first half action as the Bears took a 1-0 lead into half.

Two sophomore forwards added Baylor's final goals. Alyson Miles nudged a ball right in front of the goal where Megan Townes put it in for the score.

The Baylor defense held TCU to eight shots on goal with junior goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse making four saves.

"Overall I don't think we played as well as we are capable of. But, a sign of a good team is one that can not play well and still come out with a victory," head coach Nick Cowell said.

In the tournament's first game of the day, the University of San Diego defeated LSU 7-0. The Toreros moved to 2-1 on the season while the Tigers fell to 1-3.

Next up for the Bears will be the Fila Tournament in College Park, Md. Friday, Baylor will play Maryland at 6 p.m. and Pittsburgh Sunday at 11 a.m.
