Baylor Women Blow Out Oregon, 8-1

WACO, Texas - The No. 18-ranked Baylor women's tennis blew past Oregon on Saturday in Waco, taking a 8-1 win over the Ducks.
Baylor jumped in front early, taking five singles points.
In singles, senior, Claudia Aguilar finished up first on court six, defeating Lisa Cummings, 6-3, 6-0. The Bears took the next three points in two-set matches. No. 22-ranked Jahnavi Parekh defeated Alina Wygonowska, 7-5, 6-1. Karin Andersson took Jeanette Mattson, 6-3, 6-1, at No. four singles, and Frida Borjesson closed out her match against Adeline Araud, 6-1, 6-4. No. 75-ranked Katja Kovac split sets, 6-3, 4-6, against Monika Gieczys, and pulled through in the third set to win, 6-3. Vida Mulec split sets against Janica Nyland, 6-4, 3-6, and lost in the third, 7-5.
The bears swept the Ducks in Doubles play. Kovac and Mulec defeated Wygonowska and Gieczy, 9-7. Andersson and Borjesson defeated Nyland and Young, 9-7, and Parekh and Monica Gonzalez defeated Mattson and Araud, 8-5.
The Bears return to the court tomorrow at 1 p.m. to host Nebraska in the last home match of the season.
