Eight Bears Named to Academic All-Big 12 Tennis Teams

WACO, Texas - Eight Baylor tennis players were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Tennis teams, released by the conference on Tuesday.
For the men, Johann Jooste and Mark Williams earned First Team honors. Jooste is a senior information systems major, while Williams is a junior majoring in finance.
David Hodge and Johannes Michalsky were named to the Second Team. Michalsky and Hodge are both juniors, Hodge is majoring in health science studies, while Michalsky is a finance major.
The women's team earned three First Team selections in Karin Andersson, Frida Borjesson, and Jahnavi Parekh. Andersson is a junior marketing major. Borjesson, a sophomore, is undecided, and Parekh is a junior accounting major.
Claudia Aguilar received Second Team honors. Aguilar is a senior nutrition major.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or better, either cumulative or the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 60 percent of his/her team's scheduled contests. First-team members consist of those with a 3.2 GPA or higher, while second team members are those with a 3.0 to 3.19 GPA.
