Baylor Soccer Knocks Off Oklahoma State, 3-1

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Baylor soccer team matched its season-high offensive output, scoring three times Sunday afternoon to beat Oklahoma State, 3-1.

The win ups Baylor's record to 6-5-2, 3-2-1 in Big 12 play. Oklahoma State dropped to 3-11, 0-5 in conference.

Sophomore Whitney Barrett gave Baylor the lead in the first half, scoring her first collegiate goal in the 33rd minute to put the Bears up 1-0. OSU tied the game five minutes later, and the two teams entered the half with the score knotted at 1-1.

Freshman Emily Fukuchi scored twice in the second half, her third and fourth goals of the year, to give Baylor the win. The two scores came six minutes apart, in the 54th and 60th minutes of the game. Freshman forward Candace Reilly assisted on the first goal, while Barrett recorded her first assist of the season on Fukuchi's second score.

The Bears continue Big 12 play on the road next weekend, playing at Colorado Friday at 4 p.m. and at Texas Tech Oct. 15 at 1 p.m.

Notes: Fukuchi is the first Baylor freshman to total four goals in a season since Rachel Kacsmaryk scored five and Alyson Miles scored four times in 1998... All six of Baylor's wins this season have come on Sundays, the Bears are 6-1 on Sundays, 0-5-2 on Fridays.
