Max Calderone

Max Calderone is in his fifth season on the Baylor athletics communications staff and his first as Director of Communications in 2024-25. He currently serves as the primary sports information director for baseball, the secondary contact for football and oversees the athletics communication student prorgam. 

Calderone returned to his alma mater in June 2020 as the Associate Director of Athletics Communications for volleyball, men's tennis and equestrian. Prior to the 2021-22 season, he was elevated to work with Baylor's baseball and football programs, while also remaining with Baylor equestrian.

Previously, Calderone spent the 2019-20 season as the Will Hancock Communications Assistant at the Big 12 Conference office. He assisted the Big 12 in all areas of communications, including the preparation for conference championships, press releases, social media and maintaining conference statistical data where he was the primary media contact for cross country, equestrian, track & field, soccer and tennis. He also assisted with men's basketball, baseball and football.

As an undergraduate student, Calderone served as an intern in the Baylor athletics communications office for two seasons. In 2019, he served as the secondary contact for the national champion acrobatics & tumbling program. Additionally, he served as a student assistant for baseball and worked other sporting events.

He also spent time as a sports writer and radio director for the Baylor Lariat, the campus newspaper and broadcast group.

Calderone earned a bachelor’s degree in corporate communication from Baylor in May 2019.
