Roberts joined Baylor in September of 2021 as the Associate Director of Athletics Communications for men's and women's golf while assisting with the men's basketball and football programs.  Before he arrived at Baylor, Roberts spent 10 years in local television as a sports anchor and reporter, most recently serving as the Sports Director for KWKT-TV, in Waco, for four-plus years. Overseeing the Sports Department since FOX 44 re-launched in July of 2017, he helped re-establish a sports presence in the Waco and College Station television markets. During his run at FOX 44, Roberts had a front-row seat to many of Baylor's successes, including a national title in men's and women's basketball, an 11-win football season and several other Big 12 Championships. Additionally, he covered a handful of High School State Championships, Texas A&M games and Dallas Cowboys games.

Roberts came to Waco after a two-year stint as the weekend sports anchor and sports reporter in Baton Rouge, La., where he helped re-launch and re-brand WVLA/WGMB-TV. He helped establish the "Geaux Nation" Brand, which emphasized coverage of LSU, Southern University, The New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans.

Before working in South Louisiana, Roberts spent three years in Lubbock, Texas, as the Sports Director at KLBK-TV. During his tenure at the Lubbock CBS affiliate, he covered his alma mater, Texas Tech, highlighted by a pair of bowl trips and the baseball program's first-ever College World Series appearance. Additionally, he provided wide-ranging coverage of the many high schools, small colleges and junior college athletic programs across the South Plains.

Roberts began his television career as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at KTAB/KRBC in Abilene, Texas. He dove head-first into the Friday Night lights of West Texas and provided coverage of high schools stretching from Colorado City, Texas to Eastland, Texas, and even served as a play-by-play and color analyst for the station's webcasts. Additionally, he provided coverage of the Key City's college programs, Abilene Christian, Hardin Simmons University and McMurry University.

In addition to his 10 years of work in front of the camera, Roberts spent 11 years working part-time with CBS Sports doing golf coverage as a production support team member. Starting as a spotter in 2009, he served in many different roles, including an announcer's assistant for Bill Macatee for five major championships. Roberts most recently was an announcer's assistant and helped produce "Featured Groups" coverage during Tiger Woods' historic win at the 2019 Masters Tournament. All told, he worked over 25 events with CBS Sports, highlighted by nine Masters Tournaments and three PGA Championships.

Roberts earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Texas Tech in May of 2011.
