Marissa Bayer

Marissa Bayer joined Baylor Athletics in July 2024 as the Director of Strategic Marketing for Basketball. In this role, she oversees the marketing for Men’s and Women’s Basketball, email marketing, advertising, and surveys while serving as the oversight of the Assistant Director of Strategic Marketing & Community Engagement and the Marketing and Fan Experience graduate assistants.
 
Before arriving at Baylor, Marissa worked in the University of Cincinnati Athletic Department. She began with Cincinnati in July 2021 as the Marketing and Fan Experience Assistant and started as the marketing lead for Cincinnati Volleyball and Baseball as well as overseeing the on-field coordination at football and student marketing efforts. In October 2021, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience, taking on women’s basketball, email marketing, Junior Bearcats Club, and managing the marketing budget. In January 2023, she was promoted to Director of Marketing and Fan Experience and became the lead marketing contact for football game presentation, women’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse, while leading email marketing and digital advertising campaigns across revenue generating sports.
 
Prior to her experience at Cincinnati, Marissa worked in the Furman University Athletic Department. She started with the Paladins in January 2021 as a Marketing Assistant. While she was there, Marissa worked as the primary marketing contact for women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s soccer, and softball. She served as secondary contact for football. She also oversaw the student internship program, social strategy for the Furman Paladins Athletics social media account, and the revamp of the Kids Club.
 
Marissa started her career as a Sports Marketing Intern at the University of South Carolina in August 2019 before joining Georgia State University as a Marketing Intern in September 2020.
 
Marissa attended Wofford College and earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics in May 2019. While she was a student at Wofford, she was a four-year letterwinner on the women’s basketball team. Marissa received her master’s in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina in December 2020. 
 
Marissa is originally from Lawrenceville, Georgia.
