Krista Pirtle

Krista Pirtle originally returned to her alma mater in 2019 in the Athletics Communications department, but in September of 2022 became Senior Director of Revenue Generation for the Bear Foundation.

Her fourth year in the Baylor Athletics Communications office was the 2021-22 season, where in August, she was promoted to Director of Athletics Communications. 

After spending the first two years with the soccer and softball programs, Pirtle moved over to serve as primary contact for women’s basketball and women’s tennis as well as serving as supervisor for the communications student workers for the 2021-22 season.

Prior to entering the athletics communications field, Pirtle was a sports writer from 2013-19. After graduating with a degree in journalism, Pirtle worked at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal covering Texas Tech football, men’s basketball and baseball, in addition to whatever else was needed.

After her time in Lubbock, Pirtle spent nearly two years as a sports writer at the Waco Tribune-Herald covering high school football and Baylor Women’s Basketball.

As a Baylor student, Pirtle wrote for the Baylor Lariat and New York Times, in addition to interning for CBS Sports in New York City.

The Olney, Texas, native graduated from Baylor in 2013.
