Gavin Holmes is in his first year as a Quality Control Coach with Baylor football. He was announced in his role on March 10, 2026.

Holmes moves into a full-time role after working in a part-time quality control role with Baylor in 2024-25, assisting with the wide receivers.

A former Baylor great, Holmes played at Baylor from 2017-22 after an all-state career at Northwest High School in Justin, Texas. He finished his Baylor career with 72 catches for 927 yards and seven TDs, adding 147 yards in punt returns and 93 in kickoff returns. He took a 72-yard punt for a TD in his sixth year in 2022, and had 26 catches for 517 yards and four TDs in 12 games as a third-team All-Big 12 Conference selection.

Following his playing career for the Bears, Holmes played professional football with the Tennessee Titans and the UFL’s Michigan Panthers.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Baylor in 2022.
