Dr. Don Arterburn joined Baylor Athletics as the Director of Athletic Mental Health Services in January of 2022, though he has been a part of the department in since March of 2011.
Dr. Arterburn has been serving the Bears as a Student Outreach Coordinator for five years and for the last 11 years as an Addiction Recovery Specialist in the Counseling Center.
He earned his bachelors in education from Texas Tech in 1984, then earned his master's from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987. In 1992 he earned his master's from Baylor as well, then PhD from Texas Tech in 2002.
The Lubbock, Texas, native is married to LouAnna Arterburn. Together they have three children, Isaac, Andy and Zane. All three have either graduated from or attend Baylor.
