DISCIPLESHIP

Baylor Sports Ministry seeks to follow the Biblical model of discipleship. 2 Timothy 2:2 says, "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." We believe discipleship is vital for Kingdom expansion and the development of our student athletes.
iDisciple
iDisciple is an 8-week intensive boot camp where athletes learn some of the basic tools of ministry and disciple making. Lessons include sharing your testimony, the basics of the Gospel, active listening, and many more. The goal of iDisciple is to provide student athletes who want to take the next step in their faith and service to the Lord the tools they need to begin making more disciples for Christ.
If you are interested in learning the tools necessary to be a spiritual leader on your team by participating in the next iDisciple cohort, please email John Maurer at John_Maurer@baylor.edu or Holly Murray at Holly_Murray1@baylor.edu
CrossTraining
Cross Training is our Baylor University approved small group chapel alternative for student athletes. There are two chapel alternatives available to student athletes that address questions like: How can the Bible be practically applied to sport? Most Christian athletes know they are supposed to play for the glory of God, but what does this actually mean? Our desire is to provide a basic introduction to how the Bible can be practically applied to sports for 20-25 athletes each semester. Please talk to your academic coach or team chaplain about joining us for your two required chapel credits.
If you would like to be connected with one of our sport specific chaplains or learn more about discipleship opportunities, email John Maurer at John_Maurer@baylor.edu or Holly Murray at Holly_Murray1@baylor.edu with the subject line "Discipleship Interest."
