OCTOBER 12, 2001 - Red Donaldson is hosting his odd-year reunion for all athletes from 1948-1953 at Waco's Manor House Inn, Valley Mills Dr. and Franklin Ave. Plans are to meet at the Manor House and then go to Uncle Dan's Rib House at 1001 Lake Air Drive for dinner around 7 p. m. Donaldson has been attempting to make telephone contact with all of the athletes for whom he has numbers. On Saturday, October 13, Nebraska plays in Waco and a large crowd is expected.

DECEMBER 30, 2001 - JANUARY 2, 2002 - Members of Baylor's 1951 football team will be guests of the FedEx Orange Bowl to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Baylor-Georgia Tech game.

FEBRUARY 9, 2002 - All members of the Baylor "B" Association are invited to meet at Enron Field in Houston following the 9:30 a.m. Baylor baseball game with TCU. There will be a luncheon with BU players and coaches present. The Saturday event, chaired by Art Whitmer and Jack Loftis, is part of the second annual Enron College Classic that also matches the Bears against Rice at 7 p.m. on Feb. 7 and Houston at 4 p.m. on Feb. 8. APRIL 19, 2002 - Track Reunion Luncheon is scheduled on the weekend of the Michael Johnson Invitational Track Meet in Waco. Billy Hollis, (1958-60), David Alexander (1960-62) and Ken Dunlap (1954-56) are organizing this event and it will be open to all track letter winners, track participants, and anyone else interested in the Baylor Track program. APRIL 26, 2002 - The second annual Cary Ward Golf Tournament benefiting Huntington's Disease research will be held at the Cottonwood Golf Club in Waco. Last year's tournament was a rousing success with over 100 entrants and almost $15,000 was presented to the Research Association for Huntington's Disease. Cary Ward was a Baylor football player in the early '80's. Because of the increased interest in the tournament, all letter winners and others are encouraged to participate. Although this event has "B" Association approval, the organization is not a sponsor. IN THE PLANNING STAGES:

  • A possible Fall 2002 reunion of the Baylor football team that won the 1957 Sugar Bowl. Call Lee Harrington at 915-388-0518 for more information.

  • Potential reunion of Varsity and Freshman Football teams from 1969-71. It is tentatively scheduled for September 6-7, 2002. Call Lee Harrington (915-388-0518) for details.
