Nineteen Bears Head to Summer Leagues Nearly two-thirds of the Baylor players who will be returning to be a part of the 2012 baseball team are gaining experience this summer by playing in wooden bat leagues. Assuming that Logan Verrett and Brooks Pinckard sign professional contracts, the Bears return 30 members of the 2011 squad for another season, and 19 of those are playing summer ball. The Bears have seven players in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, three in the Texas Collegiate League, and two in the Northwoods and New England Collegiate Baseball Leagues. Baylor also has one player in each of the following leagues: New York Collegiate Baseball League, MINK League, West Coast League, Karl Young League and Jayhawk League. Here's a breakdown of where each of the Bears is playing and links to follow their progress throughout the summer: Cape Cod Baseball League Texas Collegiate League Northwoods League New England Collegiate Baseball League Jayhawk League: MINK League: New York Collegiate Baseball League West Coast League Karl Young League That's all for now, but don't forget to follow Baylor Baseball on Twitter.
