Bears’ combined indoor and outdoor slates include 17 meets across seven states
WACO, Texas – In a busy schedule that includes a few new destinations mixed in with some older and more traditional stops, Baylor Track & Field will compete in 17 meets across seven states in a 2026 indoor and outdoor season highlighted by three home events.
Announcing the combined schedules on Friday, Baylor head coach Mike Ford said he is "looking forward to our '26 season."
Staying in-state for the first two weeks of the indoor season, the Bears will go to the Corky Classic on Jan. 16-17 in Lubbock, followed by the Ted Nelson Invitational on Jan. 23-24 in College Station.
Closing out the month of January, Baylor will go to Kansas State's DeLoss Dodds Invitational in Manhattan. And then, the following weekend (Feb. 6-7), the Bears will trek to Columbia, S.C., "to support Coach (Tim) Hall and the Gamecocks" at the Gamecocks Challenge.
"They came to the Michael Johnson meet (at Baylor) last year, so we're just returning the favor to support his meet," Ford said.
In back-to-back trips to the Sports Peformance Center in Lubbock, Baylor will compete in the Jarvis Scott Open on Feb. 13-14 and the Big 12 Indoor Championships on Feb. 27-28. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be March 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Bears will open the outdoor season with the TCU Alumni Invitational on March 20-21 in Fort Worth before hosting the first of three home meets at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium with the Clyde Hart Classic on March 27-28.
A four-meet April schedule begins with a return to the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on April 1-4 at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
"We haven't been to Texas Relays in four years, so we'll be going back to a place where a lot of our kids ran high school state meets and the Texas Relays," Ford said, "so looking forward to going back to Austin."
Sandwiched between the Baylor Invitational (April 10) and the Michael Johnson Invitational (April 24-25) in Waco, the Bears will travel to Gainesville, Fla., for the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on April 17-18 at James G. Pressly Stadium.
Baylor closes the regular season with the Alumni Muster on May 1-2 in College Station, the site of last year's NCAA West Prelims.
Visiting one of the newest members to the conference, the Bears begin postseason competition on May 14-16 at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships at Roy P. Drachman Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
Going back to Fayetteville for the second time, Baylor will compete in the NCAA West Preliminaries on May 27-30 at John McDonnell Field. Qualifiers will then make their way to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 10-13 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
"I think we have a quality schedule, great competition, great weather, fast tracks," said Ford, now in his fifth year as the head of the program. "So, hopefully, we'll have a lot going to indoor nationals and outdoor nationals."
Last year, Baylor boasted a pair of individual national champions in Alexis Brown in the indoor long jump and Nathaniel Ezekiel in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles.
Tickets and scheduling for all home meets will be updated as available on the Home Meet Information page.
