Bears finish 12th, 14th in conference meet

AMES, Iowa – Baylor cross country ran at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships on a 32-degree morning in Ames, Iowa, at the Iowa State Cross Country Course.

Ryan Hodge led the Bears for the fourth time this season, while Hayden Gold piloted BU in the women's race for the third time in 2023.

THE RUNDOWN
The Baylor men's scorers took spots 46, 82, 92, 98 and 105, led by Hodge who clocked a 24:25.4 8,000-meter race. Devin Duran was No. 2 for BU with a 25:34.4 and was followed by Aiden Ramshaw and Straton Miller with PRs, and Caleb Ackman in fifth. Kanalu Wong and Nolan Keenan also competed and finished in 106^th and 107^th.

In the women's race, Gold was back out in front in the 63^rd position after clocking a 21:50.1 in the championship 6,000 meters. Jackie Addy finished 79^th just under 30 seconds later for a new PR before Rosanna Pugh in 102^nd, Jordan Ledington in 114^th and Chloe Gangnath in 116^th. Alaina Zamorano and Abby Morris took 121^st and 122^nd.

Baylor runs for a spot in the NCAA Cross Country Championships at the NCAA South Central Regional Meet in Fayetteville, Ark., on Nov. 11.
