BAYLOR vs. TCU:
FIVE KEYS TO SATURDAY'S GAME 1. PLAY LOOSE: Every bit of the pressure is on TCU, which guarantees itself a spot in next week's Big 12 Championship game with a win. The Bears have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so go out and play loose and have fun. They have zero pressure.
2. MEASURING STICK: TCU is ranked 10th in the nation, headed for another 10-win season and will most likely play Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game at AT&T Stadium. This will be a good test for the Bears to see how far they've come this season and how far they still have to go. "If we go out there and we're just not big enough and strong enough, then we have to spend the offseason getting bigger and stronger," coach Matt Rhule said. "If we're just not talented enough then we have to continue to develop. We have to really take this is an honest look at ourselves and say, "Where are we deficient?"
3. DON'T BEAT YOURSELF: Baylor turned it over four times in a 38-24 loss to Texas Tech and twice last week in a 23-13 loss to Iowa State in the home finale. If the Bears win the turnover battle in either of those games, they probably win. They can't afford to turn it over against a stout TCU defense, and they have to avoid drive-killing penalties. Play clean football and give yourself a chance.
4. TAKE AWAY SOMETHING: Kenny Hill and Shawn Robinson are both dual-threat quarterbacks that can beat you with their arms and their legs. The defense has to take one of those options away. Make them stay in the pocket and try to beat you throwing the ball, but do whatever you can to not let them get loose on long runs.
5. SEND OUT THE SENIORS: Rhule was disappointed that the team didn't give the seniors a chance to walk off the field for the last time at McLane Stadium as winners. Beating TCU on the Frogs' home field would be even sweeter. The Bears only have four seniors slated to start, with left tackle Mo Porter, tight end Jordan Feuerbacher, rush end Brian Nance and safety Taion Sells. Nance will swap out his No. 5 jersey and wear No. 1 this week to honor senior middle linebacker Taylor Young, who suffered a quad injury in the first quarter of the Iowa State game. Why not? Go win one for Taylor.
