THE RUNDOWN
SAN MARCOS, Texas - Baylor volleyball (3-1) kicked off an eight-match road trip with a 3-1 victory over the Texas State Bobcats (1-3) in front of a record-crowd at Strahan Coliseum.

The Bears came out strong, taking the first set 25-16. After dropping the second set, 19-25, BU bounced back to take the last two sets, 25-22, 25-21, to push the squad's winning streak to three.

Katie Staiger, the nation's leader in kills/set and points/set, continued to terrorize opposing defenses, picking up her second double-double of the season with 26 kills and 12 digs.

Sophomore transfer Aniah Philo had a solid all-around match, finishing just shy of a double-double with nine kills, nine digs, and four blocks.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Baylor carried advantages in kills (53-50), assists (51-48), digs (68-58), blocks (11.5-9.5), and service aces (4-2).
- Morgan Reed had a match-high 45 assists.
- Aniah Philo (4) and Ashley Fritcher (5) both either set or tied career-high marks in blocks.
- In set three, Baylor posted a match-high .389 attack percentage.

"I think we showed good composure in a hostile environment. We were slow to make adjustments in the slow start in the second set, but we made good adjustments down the stretch. The defense started getting more comfortable picking up the heat up front. Late in the match, I think our serves got tougher and our passes were more precise.
