WACO, Texas - A program record-tying six Baylor football players have been invited to work out for coaches and front office personnel at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 23-29 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the NFL announced Thursday.

The six Bears are DT Andrew Billings, WR Corey Coleman, OT Spencer Drango, CB Xavien Howard, DS Jimmy Landes and DE Shawn Oakman.

The players' invitations gives Baylor multiple players attending the combine for an eighth consecutive season. In head coach Art Briles' eight years in Waco, a total of 28 Baylor players have been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. This year's total of six ties 2014 for the most combine invitees in BU program history.

The combine is a chance for executives, coaches, player personnel staff and medical personnel from all 32 teams to evaluate the nation's top collegiate football players eligible for the upcoming draft. The six-day job interview involves a series of tests, drills and meetings with more than 600 NFL personnel.

The group of six invitees includes three seniors and three juniors, which helped Baylor to 40 wins over the last four years with two Big 12 championships and four bowl appearances, including two bowl wins. The two offensive players helped the Bears lead the nation in total offense and scoring over each of the past three seasons, while the three invitees on defense are the most under Briles.
