ST. HELENA, Calif. â '¬" On the final day of action at the Napa Valley Tennis Classic, Baylor men's tennis redshirt
Will Little recorded his third straight singles victory at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort Sunday.
Little dominated Princeton's Luke Gamble, 6-3, 6-2 to complete a sweep of his three singles matches in the last three days. The victory made Little the winner of one of eight pods at the event and pushed him into the 2015 Solinco Wild Card Shoot Out. In that singles playoff between all eight of the group winners, Little was beaten by eventual champion Billy Griffith of Cal, 10-7.
Little's teammate, Jimmy Bendeck, suffered his first loss on the season with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 loss to Michael Riechmann of Texas.
Meanwhile in action at the USTA Tiburon Challenger Saturday, Max Tchoutakian dropped a 7-6(5), 6-3 match to Sweden's Filip Bergevi in the first round of qualifying singles draw.
WHAT'S NEXT
Julian Lenz and Max Tchoutakian are slated to compete in the singles main draw at the ITF Futures of Mansfield, while Jimmy Bendeck and Will Little will be in the qualifying draw, which starts Saturday. Felipe Rios will be part of the qualifying draw at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships starting Oct. 6.
